Wayne Dalton Garage Door Opener Keyless Entry System Coding Instructions

Model 309964

Warning!

During programming the garage door may operate. Keep people and objects clear of the moving door to prevent door damage or possible personal injury.

NEVER let children operate or play with door controls. Keep remote controls away from children. Fatal injury could result should a child become trapped between the door and the floor.

ALWAYS keep moving door in sight and away from people and objects until it is completely closed. To prevent serious injury or death, avoid standing in the open doorway or walking through while door is moving.

The following explains how your keyless entry can be used to OPEN, CLOSE, START, and STOP your door.

1. Enter your 5-digit PIN (personal identification number): door will begin to move.

NOTE: If you inadvertently enter an incorrect code, the door will not move. To reset, Simultaneously press and release the "7/8" and "9/0" buttons and reenter your PIN number.

2. Unit remains active for next 25 sec. Pressing any key will stop the door if opening, and stop or reverse the door if closing during the 25 sec.  active period.

Battery Replacement

Under normal operating conditions, the battery should be changed every 12 months. To replace battery perform the following steps:

A. Snap open case with a coin and remove old battery.

B. Replace battery (one CR2032 ) and snap case together.

Dispose of used battery properly.

Programming or Changing Personal Identification Number

A. With new installations, we recommend the keyless entry be programmed before mounting to wall.

B. Unit should be programmed with garage door in the down position. For the iDrive® openers pull the emergency disconnect handle to the manual position (lower position).

C. Press the program button on the garage door opener to switch the opener to the learn mode. Opener will remain in the learn mode for at least 30 seconds.

D. Press the desired five digit PIN. Garage door opener should beep or lamp should blink. For the iDrive® openers, return the emergency disconnect handle to the motor operated position (upper position).

NOTE #1: Do not set a code that presents the numbers in sequential order. Also do not select a code that uses the same button five times consecutively.

NOTE #2: If any any time an error was made in entering the codes, simply simultaneously press and release the "7/8" and "9/0" buttons to reset the keyless entry, then repeat the above procedures.

NOTE #3: One 3966 Keyless entry can be programmed to open multiple garage door openers. To program for additional openers, repeat steps A thru D above except input a different five digit PIN number for each additional opener.
